| In The Last Knights (TLK) you play an officer in command of an army within a nation. Theatre of action would be sometime in the XIX century. The game is fairly easy to play, with the FAQ/Help section covering all there is to know. You will find that players within nations happily help out others by posting ideas on tacticas in the nations message board as well as responding to doupts on the mechanics of the game by newcomers. TLK would resemble RISK, played in the first person. Nations are controlled by the high rank players. To level up a rank you have to submit your men to varoius training sessions. The harder you train, the faster you level up. War is a different matter and is usualy held in groups. High commanders will request every officer in the nation to join up and form a main army which will be used to conquer enemy lands. Player interaction is very high, as you will see many messages requesting you to "join main army" or "join taxi to main". Most nations also create an IRC channel for instant comunication between officers and their Commanders, as well as discuss overall tactics and strategy. The game gets much more interesting when you reach high ranks like General, and get to join or form the nations HC (High command). While lower rank officers are still training and helping feed the main army with gun fodder, its up the High rank officers in the HC to determin strategy and contact other nations to form pacts and alliances. TLK is a fast paced online game, with a time limit. Usually an era lasts a month. If you have the time you can become Emperor of a Nation, and even ruler of the world in a month. If not youŽll most probably spend most of your time far from the action.... submitted by Roger on 03 03, 2006 |

| The Last Knights is an online game that, if you take a little time to get involved, is very enjoyable. In order to get involved in the game, IRC is a must. You are more than welcome to join a country and do nothing more than train, but the action is in the Diplomacy, Wars, and Player vs Player combat. Many strategies are available to create your personal army, each with it's own pros and cons. Taking the time to understand how armies and battles work will make life much easier for you in TLK. The Last Knights is still a young game, basically in the Release Candidate stages. It has been online for just about a year (as of this writing, 6/3/06) and has gone through many stages in it's life cycle. The developers keep the game in a very fast paced development cycle, adding new features every age. If you have a moderate amount of time to spend playing, this might be the game for you. submitted by Taylor on 06 03,2006 |
