Online Game Review | FAQ
What do the ratings mean?
- Enjoyment: Quite simple this one, how enjoyable is the game to play, the higher the score the better.
- Diplomacy: How much interraction there is with other players, the higher the mark the more there is, higher isn't necessarily better.
- Complexity How complex the game is, the higher the mark the more complex, higher isn't necessarily better.
- Fairness This is a general score covering things like how biased a game is against new players and those who aren't online often.
- Reliability This covers server downtime, bugs etc. A low score means the game is spoiled by problems.
- Overall Overall rating, the higher the better.
Why do I need to register?
You only need to register if you want to review or rate games, if you are browsing the site then registration is not mandatory. The reason I decided to implement registration was to try to reduce the chances of abusing the system, for example people rating their own games over and over again in an attempt to get their game at the top of the list. I believe this will give more credibility to the ratings you find on the site.
What are all the table headings for on the front page?
- Game This simply shows the name of the game reviewed, it's a clickable link to the game site.
- Score Shows the overall average score for the game, the games are listed in descending order.
- Votes An indication of how many people have rated the game. The higher this total is the more believable the ratings will be, in theory!
- Link to Review This link will take you to a page showing more details about the game, review(s) and full ratings.
- Genre The type of game, be it wargame, sports game etc.
